🎯 Engineering Challenge
Why traditional solutions fell short.
Nanjing Fairmont (now Golden Eagle International) is one of Nanjing’s ten landmark buildings, designed by SOM at 62 storeys. A landmark hotel imposes extreme demands on the safety, stability and continuous operation of fire features, which must also match the quality of world-class design. Traditional electric imitation lacks the appeal of real flame, while open-flame solutions are complicated by flue, fuel and fire-approval requirements.
💡 BB Fires Solution
BB Fires’ custom response.
BB Fires answered with smart bioethanol fireplaces: bioethanol fuel delivers the visual appeal of a real open flame, with zero flue and no exhaust system retrofit — greatly reducing installation and approval complexity. Remote smart control fits hotel operations, and the low-temperature safe surface (panel below 80°C) meets hotel-grade safety standards.
